Trek Coop ride/Trek Demo day

This Saturday was the local Trek Demo being put on by Tom Jenkins. Tom travels the country with a whole trailer full of the newest model Treks. If you ever want to find out when trek will be in your area just check http://www.trekfactorydemo.com/.

I thought it would be a great idea to host a group ride sponsored by the Trek Mountain Coop to go along with the demo. This way people could try out their favorite 2012 trek's and enjoy some sweet singletrack at the U.S National Whitewater Center. I actually ended up doing two seperate rides. On the first ride I rode my Trek Superfly 100 and we rode about half a lap. I was feeling pretty decent considering not being on the bike much since June, but it was only half a lap.

I came back to the demo area and caught up with Tom Jenkins and what he has been up to. Tom is a great guy and really enjoys riding. I have helped him on the last 4 demo's he has done in our market, and i always catch up on the product with Tom as he know his stuff.

Tom ended up talking me into trying one of the Slash 9 bikes he had. It didn't take much as I have my eye on this bike already. I managed to convince Jon Clark, who is a fellow racer that just recently got stoked on anything pointing down hill to grab a Slash as well.

We did some xc riding, but eventually got over to Goat hill area where there is some moderate DH. There are some small rock gardens. jumps, and drops. Spent the rest of our time pretty much right there. Fun times for sure. The bike is a pinner that climbs pretty well also. Amazing how it handled - begged for more. This is going to be my Pisgah Killing Machine. For those that know Pisgah, you know what I'm talking about!

Perfect day for riding with temps in the low 60's. We had a great Trek coop ride and then an added skills clinic afterwards on the Slash 9's. Was great to see everyone having fun on the 2012 Trek bikes. Now stop playing on the internet and get out and ride your bike!
